DESCRIPTION:Hiram Wilson arrived in Seguin in 1856 as one of Presbyterian Minister John M. Wilson’s 19 enslaved workers. Four years later\, a freed Hiram would launch H. Wilson & Company Pottery\, Texas’ first Black-owned business. There\, he would pioneer new techniques in pottery-making and branding. At this month’s Lone Star Story Hour\, we’ll share the story of the figures behind the H. Wilson Pottery Company\, and their lasting impact on Guadalupe County.
