This Month, Kassie will be telling a lesser known story that was solved because of DNA. In 1986 Sherri Rasmussen was murdered and a burglary was blamed. In 2009 a cold case detective ran the DNA attained at the 1986 autopsy and found that it belonged to a woman named Stephanie Lazarus. The twist, Lazarus was a police officer. Come hear a twisted love triangle that lead to a murderer walking free for more than 20 years.

September's feature is Champ d'Asile & Napoleon's Lost Treasure, which follows pirate Jean Lafitte and a group of French veterans of the Napoleonic Wars who sought to establish a military fort and operation in Spanish Texas with the intent to free the exiled and imprisoned Napoleon. Pirates, lost treasures, hurricanes and Jim Bowie make an appearance in the story!

Come visit Pecantown on September 7th for a Reading and Signing with James Wade! His new book, "Hollow out the Dark" is a historical crime fiction that entrances the reader from the beginning of the story. Come get your copy and hear the unpublished back story from James Wade.

Join us for a sangria and story! Kassie's book club read "As the Wicked Watch" by Tamron Hall. Hall took inspiration from her time as an ABC journalist to create the character Jordan Manning. Come read with us and discuss this work of fiction. 

Join us on September 19th at 1 pm to meet Wayne Stewart and get a copy of his book "Generations of Texas." This is a history of a Texas family and their growth, tragedy and perseverance.

Author Jane Botkin will be at Pecantown Books & Brews on September 21st at 1 pm to share her new book: "The Pink Dress a Memoir of a Reluctant Beauty Queen." Come get a Lavender Lemonade and a signed copy of Jane's book.
